- Biography
- Born in Bundaberg, Queensland, in 1943. A painter, Sculptor and Engraver using all mediums but specialising in oil paints.
- Robert Grant studied from the 1960's in Horticulture Design, Fashion Design, French Polishing, Engraving and Jewellery Design. The most recent completed studies in 2005 being at the Brisbane Institute of Art. He has studied also under sculpture George Virine, painters Ralf Wilson, David Pulson and Leigh Camilleri to name a few recent ones.
- Over the years Robert Grant has attended numerous workshops and is still continuing to do so. Robert Grant traditionally has shunned exhibitions (although has exhibited with Brisbane Institute of Art) and art competitions preferring to sell his artwork privately and not to be influenced by outside markets. His paintings are featured worldwide including today in 9/11 America Disaster - New York, Killarney House, Ireland, Geoff Richards - London, and Yuki - Japan.
- From a Contract Painter in his youth to a realist impressionism style painter Robert Grant has taken his passion to a full time working position earning him a comfortable lifestyle.

- Brisbane Institute of Art, Redland Yurara Art Society, Half Dozen Group and Out of Shed Group situated at the Brisbane Institute of Art.

- Influences
- Robert Grant gained inspiration from his many mountain expiditions having travelled worldwide and living for long periods of time in New Zealand, Italy, Switzerland, Sydney and Brisbane, Australia. His main influences come from the land and water in the world's ever changing environments and from his walkabout travesl with the Northern Australian Indigenous people.
